Bertil Roos Racing School Selects Petrol Eyewear

Petrol Eyewear today announced that it will supply its polarized driving eyewear to every instructor at the prestigious Bertil Roos Racing School for the 2010 season.

“Petrol offers terrific lens quality in stylish, yet understated, frame designs,” said Dennis Macchio, owner and president of Bertil Roos Racing. “This is purpose-built driving eyewear that doesn’t require you to sacrifice form for function.”

Bertil Roos instructors will be wearing several Petrol styles, including the Intake and Manifold—both featuring Petrol’s state-of-the-art Polarized Repelium® lens. The Repelium coating provides a high level of scratch resistance, moisture and dust repellence, and an anti-reflective layer that eliminates eye strain-inducing reflections inside the lens.

“Bertil Roos has been long recognized as one of the best racing instruction schools in the nation, and we’re proud to supply our sunglasses to the team helping shape a future generation of racing champions and everyday motorists focused on improving their driving skills,” said Terence Scheckter, founder and CEO of Petrol Eyewear.

A pioneer in the industry, the Bertil Roos Racing School has been training students in the art of motor racing for over a quarter of a century. Graduates of Bertil Roos can be found at every level of racing, from the hobbyist up to the top levels of professional motorsport. Founded by 1970's Swedish Formula 1 driver Bertil Roos, the Bertil Roos Racing School is one of only a few schools to be awarded full licensing accreditation status for the Regional and National Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Competition licenses. Bertil Roos' staff of experienced racing instructors has developed a multitude of programs that challenge drivers at all experience levels. Instruction is offered at three world-class racing venues: Pocono International Raceway, Virginia International Raceway, and New Jersey Motorsports Park.
